The Coostriah Project
interactive storytelling Creative Director of Agapanthus Productions, Rachel Pownall, received a NET fellowship from Bath Spa University, funded by Bristol + Bath Creative R+D. She researched ways to use immersive and emerging technologies to tell stories contained within some 19th Century family letters and diaries, stories involving sex, class, race and Empire.
Working with creative studio Zubr, she created a proof of concept prototype Augmented Reality experience using an instagram filter focusing on one of the narrative strands. She presented her findings at the MIX Storytelling in Immersive Media conference at the British Library in 2023. Rachel is currently working on a series of linked monologues based that can be incorporated into an interactive 360 VR experience but also performed separately as stage or audio pieces.
